At the recent Research Forum held in Sydney on the 1st of December, senior research executives and professionals from dealer groups, independent research firms and asset consultants gathered to discuss challenges facing the industry and how others were taking advantage of the emerging opportunities.
Intama Managing Director, Ray Djani, was invited to participate in a panel discussion about:
- The evolving demands of advice firms, as advice propositions are refined to meet consumer demand and legislative requirements.
- Whether the needs of advice firms are being adequately met by the current research offerings and support.
- How research firms need to respond to the changing needs of advice firms.
In exploring the role research plays in assisting advice businesses to construct portfolios for their clients, Ray Djani shared his experiences from helping advice firms to better meet changing client needs by sharpening their value proposition. He touched on the growth in the adoption of managed account offers and the services advice firms need from research providers and asset consultants.
Ray also emphasised the important role advisers play in uncovering what’s important to their clients, to better understand their objectives and tolerances to risk, before venturing down the path of creating portfolio solutions.
